Bitget Wallet Unaffected by Bitget Exchange Security Incident: Your Self-Custodied Assets Are Safe

Following the recent security incident involving Bitget Exchange, Bitget Wallet has initiated precautionary security checks and is closely monitoring developments.

As of this update, our security checks have found no impact on Bitget Wallet's systems or users' self-custodied assets. All Bitget Wallet services remain fully operational, and users' self-custodied assets remain unaffected by this incident.

Bitget Wallet Operates Independently of Bitget Exchange in Asset Custody

Bitget Wallet is a decentralized, self-custodial wallet.

Unlike a centralized exchange, Bitget Wallet allows you to retain full ownership and control of your private keys, seed phrase, and onchain assets. Bitget Wallet does not hold or custody assets on your behalf. You remain in control of your assets at all times.

Bitget Wallet and Bitget Exchange operate independently, with separate system architectures, wallet infrastructure, and asset custody mechanisms.

As a result, the security incident involving Bitget Exchange does not affect Bitget Wallet's self-custodial wallet system or change your control over your onchain assets.

Your Assets Remain Under Your Control

Digital assets held in Bitget Wallet are recorded on their respective blockchain networks.

Please note:

• You do not need to connect your wallet to any third-party website for purported "security verification."

• You do not need to perform any purported "asset migration" or "asset transfer."

• Never share your private keys, seed phrase, or verification codes with anyone.

• Do not click links from unknown or unverified sources.

• Do not transfer assets to unfamiliar wallet addresses.

During security incidents, be especially vigilant against phishing websites, fraudulent customer support accounts, and individuals impersonating official representatives. Scammers may use claims of "wallet security checks," "asset verification," or "asset migration" to trick you into taking actions that compromise your assets.

Bitget Wallet will never ask you to disclose your private keys or seed phrase, or request that you transfer assets to a designated wallet address.
