On August 26, Sony Block Solutions Labs officially unveiled Sony Chain—Soneium, a Layer 2 blockchain ecosystem by Sony designed to bridge blockchain technology (Web3) with everyday internet services (Web2).
Soneium leverages Sony's global presence in entertainment, finance, electronics, and gaming to bring blockchain into mainstream use, offering a complete Web3 solution from infrastructure to application layers.
The Soneium testnet is now live and supported by Bitget Wallet. Follow the tutorial below to interact with Soneium quickly and efficiently!

1. Join Soneium’s Discord channel and level up

1) Join the Discord Server.
2) After joining, enter the #waiting-room channel and chat to level up to Level 4 (slow mode limits messages to one per minute).
3) After reaching Level 4, access the #join-main-server channel and click "Join Main Server" or "Click here to join" to access the main channel.

2. Make cross-chain transactions

Regular cross-chain interactions are encouraged to fully explore Soneium’s capabilities.
1) Visit this link to get Sepolia ETH test tokens. You may use any of these alternate links if needed: 1 | 2 | 3
2) Follow this link to receive Sepolia FAUCET test tokens through a contract call.
3) Go to the Soneium website, click the top-right corner to connect your wallet, and select “Bitget Wallet.”
Enter the amount to bridge, click "Review deposit", then click "Initiate deposit” and confirm the transaction in your wallet.

4) Select FAUCET tokens, input the amount to bridge, click "Review deposit", approve, and confirm the transaction on your wallet pop-up.
5) Use the Bridge arrow to switch to the Minato network. Confirm the transaction when prompted.
Enter the amount to be bridge (Do note to not bridge your entire balance and some need to be reserved to pay for Gas fees) and click "Review withdraw".
Click "Initiate withdraw" and confirm the transaction in the wallet pop-up.
6) It takes about 1 hour to cross from Minato to Sepolia. After 1 hour, switch the network back to the "L1-Sepolia" chain and manually "Claim" your tokens.
Click "Go to transactions"

Click "Prove", confirm the transaction in the wallet pop-up, and wait for around 30 minutes.
Click "Claim" and confirm the transaction in the wallet pop-up.

3. Swap, Add, and Remove Liquidity

The scalable network AstarNetwork has taken the lead in transitioning from the Astar zkEVM network to Soneium. The step involves swapping and adding/withdrawing liquidity on the Astar zkEVM testnet.
1) Go to the vLs website, connect your wallet in the upper right corner, and switch the network to the minato network.

2) Select a trading pair, fill in the swap quantity, and complete the swap.
3) Add liquidity by clicking "Liquidity" in the navigation bar and selecting "Add Liquidity".
Since we previously swapped to USDC, you can now select the "ETH/USDC" trading pair, choose your fee level and price range percentage, fill in the amount to add liquidity, and finally click "Enable USDC".
After the page loads, click "Add" twice to complete the action.
4) To withdraw liquidity, return to the previous page and select "Active".
5) Click "Remove", select the percentage to withdraw, and then click "Remove".

4. Complete Layer3 Tasks

You can complete the 2 available tasks on Layer3. More tasks will likely be added later on.
1) Task 1
There are a total of 3 small tasks here. All 3 tasks have been completed in previous section of the tutorial, so you can proceed to verify them.
After successful verification, click "Mint CUBE to claim", confirm the transaction in the wallet pop-up (Note: It is on OP chain and requires a small amount of ETH Gas).
2) Task 2
There are another 3 small tasks here. Open "Soneium" and read Sony's news. After completing the task, click "Mint CUBE to claim". After the wallet pops up, confirm the transaction (Note: It is on OP chain and requires a small amount of ETH Gas).

5. Interact with waveX

waveX is a perpetual DEX on Soneium and they have an optional task for those interested. Participate in waveX’s Telegram mini-games and enter your wallet on their website for a chance to win USDT on BNB Chain.
